Tsepelovo village |

Tsepelovo is a dominant and inseparable section of Zagori and it is the biggest of the 44 villages. It is found in the middle of the National Park of North Pindos and it is also the seat of Tymfi municipality.
Tsepelovo is 45 km away from the airport of Ioannina city and 25 km away from the port of Igoymenitsa city. Nature was generous in giving excess beauty and charms to Zagori and the people who lived there used to compete with nature for artistry. Tourism in Tsepelovo is significantly developed and offers a variety of choices in accommodation, food and entertainment.

strolling in the village... |

By wandering around the village and following the footsteps of our ancestors who lived and created in this land we will come across mansions that have stood up to time (Rados now Bourdos mansion, Boliotis now Ferentinos, Liapis, Papazoglos, Kontofotis now Tsoumanis, Prasinos now Koumpis and other) and cobbled roads that are radial arranged converging on the central square of the village which was once and still is the meeting point for all the social manifestations including the three day celebration of the 15th of August.

the church if saint Nicolaos ... |

The hexagonal bell tower, which is 16 metres in height, dominates in the square and makes the visitors visit the famous central church of Saint Nicolaos that is a monument of orthodoxy. The church is of Royal style with domes; it was renovated in 1753 and painted with holy icons in 1786 from skilful hagiographers from Kapesovo village. There is no part of the surface of this church that has not been touched by the hagiographers’s paint brush and the rich variety of colours with the sleekness of the colours is spread to the 12 domes, 16 arches and the walls of the church creating synthesis inspired by God, masterpieces of orthodoxy. On the right of the church there is the Tsouflio pharmacy and the grave of the poet Ioannis Villaras. Tsepelovo is the birthplace of the theatre family Dimitrios Kotopoulis, Marica Kotopouli and Dimitrios Mirat.
